With immaculate lawns, yew hedges and a romantic quince orchard, magical woodland areas and a glorious lake, you are spoilt for choice at this exclusive and privately owned estate. Melissa and her team will work closely with you and explore your ideas and tailor these to help you create your dream wedding day.
As a family business owner, Melissa loves nothing more than to welcome you and your guests to this wonderfully warm, characterful and special place. Melissa always welcomes every couple personally, showing you around the house and gardens while sharing the history and many interesting facts about the house. For example, did you know it was the birthplace of Dick Whittington (1352), who became Lord Major of London four times over?
If it is a church wedding you are dreaming of, Pauntley Court is next door to an exquisite 800-year-old Norman Church, which can seat up to 100 guests. Just a stone’s throw from the Main House, this beautiful church is a romantic stroll through a private gate in the gardens. Or alternatively if your wish is for a civil or humanist ceremony, the stunning Ballroom in the Main House can take up to 40 guests and the Panelled Room is licensed for 20 guests. Alternatively, you could choose to have an outdoor blessing in the magical formal gardens or under the ‘Tentickle’ stretch tent, with far reaching views through the Hornbeam Arches and out across the Gloucestershire countryside.
Pauntley Court provides you and your guests with luxurious accommodation onsite across the Main House, Elinor Fettiplace (Bridal Wing) and the incredible 17th century Dovecote. Altogether sleeping up to 24 guests across the 10 sumptuous and individually designed bedrooms with 9 modern bathrooms. Imagine you and your guests making Pauntley Court your very own for three days and two nights. Melissa and her team make it so easy for you to relax into the comfortable opulence of this outstanding home.
An intimate wedding at Pauntley Court is all about being together with your close family and friends and staying for the 2 nights. Our very luxurious bedrooms, each individually designed, have the highest of quality linens, fluffy towels, dressing gowns and slippers and freshly picked flowers (arranged by Melissa’s mother) in every room - your guests cannot fail to feel completely spoilt in the time that they are with you.

What Wedding Packages Are Available At Pauntley Court?
We love Pauntley Court and feel it’s just perfect for smaller weddings and elopements. This venue is so well set up to provide the perfect setting for treasured time together with loved ones where you can create lifelong shared memories. We’re delighted to find that Pauntley Court offers a range of small bespoke wedding options to suit everyone. You can choose from: an ‘Elopement’ for up to 8 people; a ‘Micro Wedding’ for up to 16 guests; a ‘Petite Wedding’ for up to 24, an ‘Intimate Wedding’ for up to 40; and, a larger wedding specifically for 40-100 guests.
An Elopement Wedding For 2-8 People - £1950
With this package you’ll have exclusive hire of the ground floor of the Main House with accommodation for the two of you in the romantic and cosy bridal suite, Elinor Fettiplace, for two days and one night.
On the morning of your wedding, brides are welcome to arrive from 9am, for hair and make-up. For these elopement-style weddings the Main House offers a host of wonderful spaces for your intimate civil ceremony and dining later on.
Outside, you’ll discover a myriad of magical places for a romantic wedding day walk with your photographer, whether in the beautiful formal gardens, in the woodland or down to the lake, providing the perfect backdrop for your wedding photography. Enjoy a private dining experience in the Main House, under the hornbeam arches or beneath the ‘Tentickle’ stretch tent out on the lawn with your guests. After your guests depart, the two of you can continue your own private celebrations in the decadent and romantic bridal wing. Snuggle up in front of the fire in your suite or take the air out on the haha, offering glorious views across the countryside that will make you feel a million miles from anywhere.
This package can be booked for any available Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
What Might Our Elopement Wedding Stay Look Like?
Every Elopement wedding is different, but here’s an example of what you can expect
9am – Bride arrives to get ready in private. She might choose to be with a bridesmaid or member of her family, so they can have cheeky glass of champagne and get ready together and get excited about the day ahead.
Midday – The groom and any other guests gather in the Panelled Room.
1pm – A legal ceremony in the cosy and atmospheric Panelled Room or the elegant Ballroom.
1.30pm – Drinks and canapes can be enjoyed out in the gardens as your wedding photographer works their magic.
3pm – A sumptuous wedding dining experience of your choice for up to 8, inside in The Ballroom or outside in the stunning gardens or perhaps in our Flower Room.
5pm – Cake cutting and speeches, should you choose.
6pm – Your guests depart and the two of you retire to your romantic and cosy hideaway, Elinor Fettiplace, the Bridal Suite, a separate wing of the Main House.
The next day, you can enjoy a relaxing morning including a leisurely breakfast before checking out by midday.
A Micro Wedding for up to 16 people - £3750 (mid-week) or £4250 (weekend)
This is a great micro wedding package for you and your inner circle. With this package you’ll have exclusive hire of Pauntley Court for three days and two nights. The two of you will stay in the romantic Bridal Suite, Elinor Fettiplace and up to 14 guests can stay in the Main House.
You can choose to get married in the beautiful Norman church just a short stroll from Pauntley Court or choose an intimate civil ceremony in the elegant Ballroom followed by drinks and canapès in the Panelled Room or under the “Tentickle” stretch tent in the garden. A special wedding breakfast for 16 can be in The Ballroom or, if you prefer, outside under the stretch tent or perhaps beneath the stunning hornbeam arches.
You may wish to arrange acoustic live music, or hire some garden games for your guests or perhaps just enjoy the time to chat, laugh and celebrate before your guests retire to the luxury of their bedrooms and the two of you steal away to your private, romantic wing of the house. The large Main House Kitchen provides the perfect place to reconvene on the morning after your wedding before everyone heads off.
What Might a Mid-Week Micro Wedding Stay Look Like?
Although every micro wedding is individual and has its own nuances, here’s an example of how your micro wedding stay at Pauntley Court might look:
Tuesday – the day before your wedding
4pm - You and your guests arrive and are greeted by Melissa. Perhaps you will all enjoy a cup of tea and some homemade cake before checking in to your rooms.
6pm - Drinks in the Flower Room before an evening barbecue in the Walled Garden and in the Flower Room.
Wednesday - Your wedding day
Wake-up in the romantic bridal suite, enjoy breakfast with your family and friends in the Main House Kitchen before hair and make-up commences.
1pm - Church, celebrant-led or legal wedding ceremony.
2pm – Enjoy drinks and canapès in the house, or in one of the many garden rooms.
5pm – Sit down to a wedding breakfast for you and your guests in The Ballroom, in the “Tentickle” stretch tent or in the stunning gardens.
7pm – Cutting of the wedding cake and speeches, if you wish.
7.30pm – First dance and an evening of dancing in the Ballroom. Those who wish to sit and chat can relax in the Panelled room.
11pm - Retire to the comfort and luxury of your bedrooms.
Wake-up to hot coffee and pastries before heading home at 10am.
A Weekend Petite Wedding at Pauntley Court Exclusive-Hire For Up To 24 guests From £4,950
Up to 24 of your closest family and friends can all stay on-site with you, in the luxurious accommodation in the Main House, Elinor Fettiplace and the Dovecote for three days and two nights. On your day of arrival, once everyone has had a cup of tea and checked-in we suggest a pre-wedding evening in the Flower Room and Walled Garden with home-made pizzas, and so saving the wow factor of the formal gardens for your wedding day. You can choose to married in the church on site, or opt for a legal wedding ceremony in The Ballroom. An outdoor blessing or humanist ceremony in the gardens or down by the lake is also an option for you. Enjoy your wedding breakfast followed by dancing in the ballroom, before retiring to the comfort and elegance of the individually decorated bedrooms. You can gather your guests together again the morning after your wedding for a leisurely breakfast in the Main House Kitchen. A perfect opportunity for everyone to regale stories from your wedding day before heading home.
This package can be booked for mid-week Tuesday to Thursday or weekends, Friday to Sunday.
An Intimate Wedding at Pauntley Court Exclusive Hire For Up to 40 guests From £5,250 to £5,950
An Intimate wedding for up to 40 can be hosted at Pauntley Court on an exclusive-hire basis. With this package up to 24 of your guests are able to stay with you in the 10 beautifully designed bedrooms for 2 nights. You can invite 16 additional guests to join you for your wedding day. Melissa and the team at Pauntley Court can recommend accommodation for your day guests close-by. You can choose either a church wedding in the neighbouring Norman church or legal wedding ceremony for up to 40 in The Ballroom over-looking the garden. After this, you and your guests can enjoy drinks and canapès in the Panelled Room in the cooler months or under the “Tentickle” stretch tent and the beautifully cultivated hornbeam arches at all other times. Afterwards, your wedding breakfast could be in the stunning Ballroom or outside in one of the plethora of magical spaces in the gardens. The choice is entirely yours! The Main House Kitchen is the perfect place for a leisurely breakfast or perhaps brunch outside allowing the perfect opportunity for a full de-brief of your wedding day.
This package can be booked for mid-week Tuesday to Thursday or weekends, Friday to Sunday.
Exclusive Hire For A Larger Wedding For 100 People - £6950
Exclusive-hire of the Pauntley Court Estate is possible for larger weddings and a limited number of are hosted annually.
With this package you will have exclusive hire of the venue for three days and two nights. The divine Bridal Suite, Elinor Fettiplace will await the two of you and up to 22 of your guests may stay in the main house and Dovecote.
Please note that you will require a marquee for this size of wedding and this cost will be over and above that noted here. This wedding package can be booked for weekends dates only.

Use of up to 40 vintage cross back chairs and trestle tables for the ballroom or under the stretch tent.
Use of a wonderful 12m x 9m “Tentickle” stretch tent in the gardens, for either an outdoor ceremony or drinks and canapés if the weather is inclement.
A wedding co-ordinator to plan with you ahead of your wedding day who will to go through your plans with you.
A member of the Pauntley Court team to be there for you from 11am to 6pm on your wedding day ensuring that everything goes exactly as you planned.
A choice of 3 fantastic local caterers for your wedding breakfast. The team are happy to offer flexibility on all other suppliers and we can provide as much or as little help required. Pauntley Court has established a fantastic list of recommended suppliers who they have personally worked with and they will happily share this with you.
No corkage charge for your drinks.
Pauntley Court has a wonderful wedding coordinators, Holly and Beth, who will work with you before your wedding, to help you source fantastic local suppliers and plan the details of your precious time in this beautiful place. Within your booking fee you can benefit from up to 2 hours of her time for an elopement wedding and up to 4 hours of her time for all other packages. In addition, Rachel, the fabulous Housekeeper, can provide an extra pair of hands on the evening before your wedding or prepare and tidy breakfast for you and your guests on your wedding day morning. Her services can be booked in addition to your package.
