Last Minute Weddings

With the unprecedented upheaval of COVID-19 we're hearing from more couples than ever who are losing patience and just want to get married. We understand the frustration and our venues and the great wedding service suppliers we work with are all raring to go as soon as the Government gives the green light to re-commence weddings.

We believe that the green light to recommence weddings will be given sooner rather than later, and sincerely hope to be recommencing weddings by August latest, albeit with social distancing and sensible precautions against the spread of COVID-19. You can expect that a wedding in our "new normal" may include:

  • a restriction on numbers

  • encouragement to have an outside ceremony where possible/desirable or a well aired indoor space

  • social distancing for people attending outside of your immediate household and "bubble household"

  • a smaller intimate wedding day for you ceremony and maybe a celebration meal and any bigger celebrations being deferred to post-COVID-19 world

  • guests and staff may be required to wear masks indoors or at various point when proximity to others may be a risk

Expect a boom in outfit matching masks or themed masks for the whole wedding party, pretty ways of dividing tables up to ensure social distancing whilst enjoying your wedding meal e.g. flower buffers. Creativity will drive a fun way to manage some of these restrictions. For those who wish to embrace the moment, feel life is too short and won't let COVID-19 get in the way of true love's destiny, we can help.

The good news is that we are open to new bookings right now. We are taking provisional bookings for elopements for this summer/autumn and firm bookings for dates after 1 November 2020 and into 2021/22. One of our beautiful venue partners, The Brickhouse Vineyard in Devon has put together a great guide for those who are looking to get married quickly. This lays out how easy it is to arrange a last minute wedding and is an essential read for anyone looking to book a last minute wedding. All of our small wedding venues are offering elopement weddings this year.

We hope that we will be able to share news of a clear way forward before too much longer with more specific and definitive guidance as to what is/is not possible in the short/medium and long term. In the short term, there is no need to stop planning, knowing that we are all geared up ready to go as soon as the Government is!
