A truly unique intimate wedding experience
An intimate wedding in Bath
Unique intimate wedding venues rarely bowl us over in the way that the Roman Baths and Pump Room has. This enchanting, award-winning Roman Baths is just perfect for your small wedding. Offering a combination of stunning outdoor and indoor spaces in a prime location that's just 1 and a half hours from London on the train. What’s more, with prices starting from £1155 plus VAT, it offers exceptional value for money and a wedding day experience you and your guests will never forget.
Imagine exchanging your vows in this iconic ancient monument. It’s not just beautiful, it’s also practical as while being outdoors, it is covered and protected from any wet weather meaning your wedding ceremony can be held here come rain or shine. What could be more magical than exchanging your vows then sipping Champagne on 2000-year-old original Roman paving, with flaming torches reflecting in the thermal waters? It’s here, overlooked by stunning Bath Abbey, that your small wedding or elopement can take place in a sunrise or sunset ceremony. Whichever you choose, there is no more romantic start to your married life.
More than just a small wedding venue, a unique experience
You can choose a "just for two" wedding for a special elopement experience and witnesses can be provided for you, or alternatively, there are airy rooms in which to celebrate with loved ones. The Pump Room, with its tall windows and spa fountain, was frequented by Jane Austen and remains a popular venue in the city. The different spaces available allow flexibility in terms of the number of guests you include in your special day, suiting every size from a small elopement for 2 through to intimate weddings for 20-50.
We hope you’ll agree that the Roman Baths really is a magical experience, rather than simply a venue.
If you are considering an intimate wedding or elopement in Bath, the Roman Baths wedding team are available to take you on a virtual tour around the venue. This can be virtual or in person (subject to government restrictions), pointing out areas of interest and answering your questions along the way. If you would like to book in for a tour or if you would like to check availability, please contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01225 477786. Daniela and Neil.
‘We feel lucky that venues like the Roman Baths are available to hire…In fact, we’ve lost count of the number of guests who told us how much they loved the venue and how atmospheric the Roman Baths were on the night. It was all, in a word, perfect!... It has been a pleasure working with you from beginning to end’.
Paul and Isabella

You definitely have a strong customer focused team and I could not thank them enough for making my day go perfectly! We genuinely had the best day/night and are so happy we made the decision to book with the Roman Baths. Everyone has commented on the location and how unique it was, simply perfect!...I cannot fault anything’.

Micro weddings at the Roman Baths
Current government restrictions allow for small weddings, with up to 15 people able to gather for a ceremony and / or a seated reception. These guidelines may have stripped away the grand celebrations of recent times but leave the real heart of a wedding still possible – exchanging vows and showing your commitment to one another in front of your nearest and dearest.
It may be difficult to limit guest numbers to only 13, but some couples have actually embraced this – especially those struggling with the expectation of a huge wedding when they hoped for something more intimate.
Bath’s Historic Venues and their caterer Searcys have put in place additional measures at weddings for the safety of both guests and staff at their venues. They have already hosted several covid-secure weddings and the feedback from couples has been overwhelmingly positive.
Pippa and Chris got married in July at the Roman Baths, and Pippa said,
“The Roman Baths has stood for 2000 years and is timeless and beautiful regardless of lockdowns and pandemics. It was perfect for our original plan of 60 people and it was equally special with only 7. Having a unique space like that to yourselves is a once in a lifetime experience.'
"We count ourselves lucky to have been working with such an understanding venue. The Bath's Historic Venues team were the best people to have on our side throughout this whole experience, they were great at communicating with us about the new guidelines and letting us know what was our responsibility and what was theirs. We changed our date twice and both times it was no stress, this helped us so much and gave us the confidence to go ahead with the day.
It was the perfect day (even the weather showed up for us) and everyone working there on the day were so lovely and helpful. Having a lovely wedding is still 100% possible, you just have to be a little flexible and accept the idea that you get to celebrate over a much longer period of time.”
